Today’s work structures have become irregular and designers often find themselves in precarious situations, both financially and professionally. Meanwhile, Artificial Intelligence (AI) advances quickly, which also influences the design profession and its research driven, reflective practice. AI-enhancements might not lead to a new phase of stability, but they will certainly be a driving force behind fundamental changes in the design process. This project explores the potential of human-bot collaborations, represented through a speculative scenario in which the human designer Karin teams up with the design bot Karin Anders.
Various experts—designers, AI researchers, lawyers, relationship counsellors and others—invest their specialist knowledge in discussing the future consequences in a series of speculative talks. How will Karin and Karin Anders collaborate in a productive way?
